On Tuesday we held our annual Employee and Volunteer Appreciation event at Lava Lanes! This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to all of our employees and volunteers for their hard work and dedication, and it was a great success!
During the event, we announced the 2010 recipients of our Manager, Employee, and Volunteer of the Year awards. This year’s award recipients are:
The Laurie Lindberg and Jesse Martin MANAGER AWARD:
Amy Jackson, the Manager of Weaver House. Amy has dedicated many long hours to the direct care of the individuals at Weaver House, and is a wonderful example for her staff to follow. Amy makes sure that the individuals at Weaver have a fantastic quality of life by taking them rafting, on sidecar rides, to visit family, and many other client-specific activities. Despite the many health concerns and obstacles faced by the clients at Weaver, Amy helps ensure that their lives are filled with excitement and fun. We thank you, Amy, for your commitment to Living Opportunities!
The Rosann Boyer-Johnson EMPLOYEE AWARD:
Laurie Colley, who works at our Ashland site! Laurie cares deeply for our clients, and goes above and beyond what is expected of her in service to them. She’s a real team player and an exceptional worker. Laurie is very safety-conscious and always puts the clients first. She even saved a client’s life when they were choking! She’s been with Living Opportunities for over eight years, and we are grateful for her continued service. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us, Laurie!
The Bill & Barbara Harper VOLUNTEER AWARD:
Karen Wraight is this year’s Volunteer Award recipient. Karen coordinates and organizes our Livin’ Lovin’ Lunchin’s, and helps at almost every event we put on. Karen has been a volunteer for Living Opportunities since our first Luncheon in 2004. We thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our cause, Karen, and look forward to many more years of partnership with you!
